XdeDHS Alumni

I am inviting you, my fellow Xavierians, to share your photos that best capture your fondest memories of our beloved high school, XdeDHS. Of course, your fondest photos may not be your lousy 1 x 1 school ID that your sweetheart used to keep in his/her pocket until it was eaten by molds of his/her mostly penniless wallet.

As a guide, the photo/s should tell us something, a story, a very interesting one. So, it’s like a photo essay, meaning a photo that tells or relates a story. But of course, barkada photos are very much welcome as long as you are convinced they capture one of those “moments” in high school. However, please exercise restraint by excluding photos in your most compromising situations or poses. You know what I mean, right? But in case compulsion overrules your sound judgement, you can email those photos to me direct! Ha ha ha! Just kidding.

The photos you send/post will be included in the slide presentation during the grand alumni homecoming (read: ruby celebrations). Who knows, it might earn you a surprise gift!

I’m toying with the idea of a photo exhibit and contest, the mechanics of which I will post later as soon as I’m done talking to the right people who can lend their time, talents, and skills for this proposal to come to fruition.

Meanwhile, keep those fondest, craziest, wackiest, funniest, most romantic, most horrific, most nostalgic, most what-have-you photos coming. I’ll guarantee you enough space in this site. If you are in Damulog and do not know how to send photos electronically, please bring those photos to Mr. Daniel Tan for him to scan at a high resolution, preferably at 200 dpi (dots-per-inch). A word of caution: each photo should have a file size not exceeding 2 MB for easier file transfer/attachment to emails. Mr. Tan is a techie and you will have all the help you need from him in this department. He is a true-blue Xavierian and a generous soul at that. He has a complete workstation at his shop and I guess he can even connect to the Internet from there, hopefully. When you’re ready, send them to me at  tonyigcalinos@gmail.com and/or at adigcalinos@yahoo.com.

Happy sending!

PS.

I was at the Manila International Auto Show last week (April 5) to check on the latest offerings by the auto industry in these trying times. I had another purpose: I was looking for the best bargain any dealer would be willing to offer for would-be buyers/owners like yours truly, though I had to shelve buying my own unit  and wait until the stormy financial weather would clear, if ever it will. Right at the entrance was the Jaguar booth, with 6 gorgeous babes on display that day–its flagship XJ12, the new XF which replaced the S-Type, the XKR that closely resembles 007’s Aston Martin Vanquish, the Range Rover Sport, and two variants of Land Rover, Discovery and Defender. I love the S-Type, that’s for sure. But owning one of it? Well, i’ll leave to my creative imagination at the moment. But I can settle for the XKR, just the same. I’m posting/pasting below my favorite dream car, the XKR, to break the rather monotonous all-text posts and to encourage Xavierians to dream also of owning this car. Many success stories started with a dream, not a vision, mind you. This really has nothing to do with being a Xavierian but just in case my 6/49 bet hit the jackpot, I might be arriving at the 40th Grand Alumni Homecoming in December in this baby. Who knows?

XKR

The car for every Xavierian with a dream

This post now officially welcomes thoughts, comments, opinions and what-have-you, from alumni, friends, former and current teachers and students, parents, and everyone who’s got something and anything to do with Xavier de Damulog High School.

We hope through this blogsite to engage the alumni community whose membership has now gone global (YES, that’s right, we’re global) into a discussion that would ultimately lead to active participation in the affairs of our beloved high school. We have members who are now based in Australia, America, Canada, South and Latin America probably, Eastern and Continental Europe, in many parts of South, South East, and Central Asia, Australia, and I’m pretty sure, in Africa.

In posting, please provide your full name and the year you graduated from XdeDHS. We also hope to come up with an online directory, which should be published later as soon as our resources will allow it. Also, please provide your contact details, i.e. e-mail/s, mobile numbers (for overseas based, preferably your roaming number), office or residence numbers (for local-based) so that we have an updated list here.
